Investigating angles around our school

During the week 3A used their iPads to capture and identify angles in the school environment outside the classroom.

It proved to be a great way to solidify our knowledge of angles and our ICT skills.

Quidditch!

Quidditch season is well underway this term, with 5 grade 5/6 teams and 6 grade 3/4 teams competing for glory.

Science!

On Friday we had Science (3A and 3B) in 3B's Room. We discovered that if you put food dye in milk water it will turn a colour. The colour depends of what colour you put in. The ingredients are: Milk, food dye, detergent, water, cup and spoon. Put any colour into the milk! Then swirl them both around. Put dish washing liquid (detergent) into the milk, and what do you think happened??? We ended up with a big ripple!!!!! Ms Jolly tried doing green and red into milk then added loads of dish washing liquid... It over lapped and went to the side! it was amazing a wonderful to know this! You may try this at home! Have a parent to help.

The fat in the milk holds the food dye in place, adding the detergent causes the fat in the milk to thin and the molecules to split apart. This is the effect that causes the mixing colours.

Welcome to Grade 3 in 2016!

Welcome to all of the new grade 3 students!We are all looking forward to a sensational 2016 and the students have made an excellent start during CALC week.

Beginning in Term 2 students from grade 3, 4, 5 & 6 have enjoyed competing in a Quidditch competition!

The competition has been well contested and students have displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout the games.

Professor Bunsen

On Tuesday the 24th of March we were lucky enough to have a visit from Professor Bunsen. The grade 5 and 6's greatly enjoyed the loud bangs and thrills as he conducted his chemical science experiments!
